Dog sledding is great adventure,
where the nature is enjoyed in a more quiet way than on a snow
mobile. Still, there is speed and action on the sled as well!
Imagine the thrill and at the same time moment of serenity, standing
on the sled, leading your own team of dogs, while the Northern
Lights move like flames across the sky. The only sound you hear
is from the paws treading the snow.
We recommend the following scheme: We pick you up at the airport.
We then proceed to the sled dog kennel, where the group harness
the dogs. They then head across the mountain to the Ongajok Mountain
Farm, where a hot outdoor tub and luxurious dinner awaits. The
tour lasts approximately 3-4 hours, and it is also possible to
have outdoor lunch by an open fire en route.
Every participant get to try to drive their own team of dogs.
There are two people per team of dogs; one drives, and the other
sits in the sled. They then switch places en route.
Our sled dog guides have a lot of experience. They have all participated
in the Finnmarksløpet; Northern Europe's longest sled
dog race. It is held in March each year, and is 1000 km long.
